Most of this Website is self explanatory. There are sub-pages linked to parent pages in the main navigation menu, but the posts and post categories, under the Resources main menu item and the categories below the Articles heading/link deserve some clarification.

Resources Categories Explained:
Additional Small Business Resources are a collection of Posts including a Post with links to internal and outbound resources and other Posts with the purpose of assisting and guiding Small Business Owners. These Resources include:
- Relevant and trending Small Business Topics as well as,
- External links to Personal Finance and Tax “asset” information designed to assist and provide answers to individuals for common, frequently asked questions.
The Business Problems and Solutions Category is for those users whose businesses have more severe financial or operational issues that require immediate attention.
The News Category captures announcements made by Engineered Accounting Solutions.
Newsletters are published (“periodically,” need to do a better job here) for the benefit of clients, friends and prospects that are meant to be fun and informative, and light on accounting, and tax technical detail.
The Prospects Category was meant for those potential clients that may have questions re: what we do and if we can help.
The Videos and Podcasts Category is under construction – this represents a placeholder.
Articles is not a category but a heading and link (to the Articles Category Section explained, below). Articles simply lists those categories that further define the types of Articles – Accounting and Bookkeeping or Pillar Articles, for example. These categories were created to help you, the user find your topic of interest, quicker.

Categories Explained:
Accounting and Bookkeeping is a general (foundation) category that discusses the distinctions between accounting and bookkeeping, why accuracy matters in accounting and some helpful tips/hints regarding bookkeeping. The posts here emphasize the importance of keeping accurate records to create an operating “baseline.” Baselines are crucial so that Small Business Owners or Managers can make informed decisions based on data that accurately reflects the operating model of their business.
Accounting and Financial Concepts discusses the importance of being able to discuss concepts, confidently with creditors, customers, and investors. Like it or not, these groups will form perceptions of you and your business based on your understanding (and fluency) of some basic concepts.
Advisory and Equity focuses on building wealth and discusses some common misconceptions about taking money out of your business.
Advisory and Profitability is a broad category that demonstrates the importance of pricing your products and services, including – Why gross profit is probably the single most important metric in your business model through case studies, some strategies and tactics to fight inflation, and profitability measures relative to difficult clients and customers.
Budgeting introduces a cash management plan for small businesses to try and constrain behavior that focuses businesses toward those activities and initiatives that satisfy goals and targets within an operating period.
Pillar Articles are in-depth articles that have enough detail, ideas, and specifics to help businesses formulate their own solutions.
Tax Debt Representation concerns the intricacies and pitfalls about dealing with the IRS and the importance of choosing the right representation to ensure the best possible outcome for you, the client.
Tax Issues and Solutions is a general category with several topics including, tax planning, those activities or tax positions that may raise IRS red flags, the difference between stock and debt basis – what basis is and why it’s important, a newsletter that discusses different types of business entities, tax deductions and pricing, and EIN numbers – what they are and why they’re important.
